Character Design
Capturing personality, emotion, and overall character is one of my favorite projects to undertake. Here are a few fun character designs of varying types of lineups! I draw with a HUION tablet and use Paint Tools Sai.
Caretaker - Created by Isabelle Peterson
Caretaker is a graphic novel story concept I created for an independent study course in college. The Caretaker as a character is a sweet, awkward young herbalist who lives in the magical forest. She adores wildlife and it adores her in turn - to the point it even refrains from getting tangled in her long hair!
Kyle and Jamie - Created by Joseph Faustino
Kyle & Jamie are a couple of underpaid gas station employees. They enjoy snacking and arguing about obscure music. Created for a short film called Death by Daycare, they are about to have the fright of their lives when their workplace is held up by three babies in a trench coat!
Cassie & Grandpa - Created by Isabelle Peterson
Dog by the Sea is a short animated film I wrote for a class & was given the time and opportunity to develop visually and thematically in a pre-production process.
Lonely, painfully shy Cassie is sent away for the summer to stay with her grandpa to learn how to talk to people. Though at first she continues to struggle, a big shaggy dog she meets at the shore becomes her very first friend.
